Reddy Dynasty

The Reddy Dynasty was a prominent dynasty in southern India, existing from 1325 to 1424 CE, primarily ruling parts of present-day Andhra Pradesh. Founded by Prolaya Reddy, the dynasty moved its capital from Addanki to Kondavidu and later to Rajahmundry. It was known for its warrior and kingly class origins, with strong ties to Hinduism and Telugu culture. The dynasty actively repaired important temples like Srisailam Mallikarjuna Swami and Ahobilam's Sri Maha Vishnu temple, fostering a revival of literature and arts during their reign.  The dynasty produced famous poets and literary figures like Errana, who contributed Telugu translations of epic texts such as the Mahabharata and Ramayana.
